Yemenis extract another US bomb in capital Sana’a
Oman will not be the third country to normalize ties with the Zionist entity, Oman’s Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi told the London-based Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper on Saturday. “Oman believes in the principle of achieving a just, comprehensive and lasting peace on the basis of the two-state solution,” said Busaidi, after he was asked about a call with Foreign Minister Yair Lapid. “This is the only option affirmed by the Arab Peace Initiative and international legitimacy,” he said. “We are with the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and we respect the sovereign decisions of states, just as we expect others to respect our sovereign decisions,” Busaidi said. Oman’s foreign minister told his Israeli counterpart he hopes Israel’s new government will take concrete steps towards creating an independent Palestinian state with east Al-Quds as its capital, Omani state media said last month.
After two months of digging into a depth of more than twenty meters, Yemen’s Mine Action Center managed to defuse one of the largest US bombs dropped in Yemen’s capital Sana’a.
The bomb was expected to target the Civil Defense building in Sana’a. Observers say this bomb is another proof of the US military support for the Saudi war on Yemen.
Over the past years, Saudi Arabia has used internationally prohibited weapons including the US bombs to target residential areas across the country.
Back in April 2015, Riyadh committed one unforgettable crime by bombing the Attan area with a US cluster bomb killing more than one hundred civilians including women and children.
The American bomb, dropped by US aircraft, is yet another witness to Washington’s role in the war crimes in Yemen, as the UN turns a blind eye to such violations. Besides the military support, Yemenis say Washington has always been backing Saudi Arabia politically as a major ally in the region.
