Arbaeen observes in Toronta severe Cold Weather

Like every years, this year also procession was taken out on Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (AS) â€“ Arbaeen on 18th Safar, Sunday, 23rdJanuary. This year unlike previous years, the weather was very cold and the temperature touched to negative 32 degree Celsius. Despite this, thousands of Shian e Haider e Karar from Ontario participated in the Procession.

According to ABNA, the procession started at 2:30 pm, before which a Majlis was held, for which Soaz Khani was done by Shaheryar Ali Naqvi, after which Maulana Aoun Muhammad Naqvi â€“ a prominent cleric from Karachi, addressed the Majlis. Addressing the gathering, Maulana talked about the great sacrifice that Imam Hussain (AS) and His Companions presented to protect their religion, and people had gathered and had come out of their homes in this intense cold weather to remember the same sacrifice with great zeal and respect.

After the Majlis the Juloos precession was taken out, which taking its prescribed routes ended at 5:00 pm at Hussainiya Passmore, where Hussaini Azadar did matam with bare chest in negative 32 degree Celsius. At the end, Niaz was distributed amongst the gathering of the Procession.
