CNN claimed that the Russian Internet Research Agency is suspected of providing grounds for interfering in the two presidential elections of 2016 and the midterm elections of the US Congress in 2018.

Russian government officials, meanwhile, have repeatedly denied US allegations of meddling in the US election.
