19 Militants Killed, 25 Others Injured in Afghan Army Operations

At least 19 Taliban militants were killed in military operations by Afghan national army soldiers, defense officials said Thursday.

General Zahir Azimi, spokesman for the ministry of defense said the operations were conducted in various provinces of the country during the past 24 hours, Khaama Press reported.

Azimi further added that various types of weapons, ammunition and explosives including 36 improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were also seized during the operations.

He said two Afghan national army soldiers were also martyred following improvised explosive device (IED) explosion.

No further details were given regarding the exact location where the Afghan army soldiers were martyred, but General Azimi said the soldiers were martyred in the past 24 hours.
