52 Taliban Militants Killed during Counter-Terrorism Operations in Afghanistan
At least 52 Taliban militants were killed in the joint clean-up operations of the Afghan national security forces in various provinces of the country during the last 24 hours.
The Ministry of Interior (MoI) said in a statement that Afghan National Police conducted several anti- terrorism joint operations with Afghan National Army and NDS to clean some of the areas from terrorists and enemies of peace and stability of Afghanistan, Khaama Press reported.
The statement further added that the operations were conducted in Ghazni, Laghman, Badakhshan, Kandahar, Zabul, Logar, Kapisa, Paktiya, Helmand and Nimroz provinces, as a result 52 armed Taliban members were killed, 21 wounded and two others were arrested by Afghan National Security Forces.
Afghan National Police discovered and confiscated light and heavy rounds of ammunition during the operation, the statement added.
MoI also added that three armed Taliban (IED planters) were killed by their own explosives while they were placing IEDs in the main road of Shahrk district of Ghor province.
The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the report so far.
