Ashura commemorated fervently in Saudi Arabia
Despite limitations set by the ruling regime, Saudi Shiites held fervent ceremonies on to mark the anniversary of Ashura or 10th of Moharram the day in which Imam Hussain (AS), the third infallible successor of the prophet of Islam was martyred.
Inhabitants of the east of Saudi Arabia widely participated in the ceremonies marking the anniversary of martyrdom of chief of the martyrs Imam Hussain (A.S.) on Sunday.
According to Al-Aalam, residents of Shia-inhabited eastern regions of Saudi Arabia massively attended the ceremonies of Ashura on Sunday demanding release of all political prisoners.
They also condemned the violent confrontation of the Saudi regime against the innocent people of the region.
Sunday November 25 was Ashura, the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hossein (Peace be upon him) the grandson and third infallible successor of Prophet Mohammad (SAWA).
