Saudi Crown prince dies, power tussle in the family rages on
Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince died of ailment in Switzerland on Saturday. He was 79.
Prince Nayef Bin Abdul Aziz was also interior minister of Saudi Arabia. His death has given birth to power tussle within ruling Saudi family.
He was a known nasbi wahhabi. During his tenure as minister that spanned 37 years, he closed down more than 200 mosques of Shia Muslims. Persecution of Shia Muslims continued in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Saudi Kingdom’s ruling family follows Mohammad Bin Abdul Wahab’s wahhabi ideology that is intolerant of Sunni and Shia Islam which the majority of Muslims follow.
