Hundreds of scholars express solidarity with Sheikh Amer

al_amarHundreds Shia Clerics and Students of Al-Ahsa and Qatif province on Friday expressed solidarity with the detained Shia cleric  Sheikh Tawfiq Al-Amer and demanded of the Saudi-Wahabi government to immediately release the detained Shia cleric and other forgotten shia prisoners.

According to the press statement obtaining by the Shiite News, The Shia clerics expressed dismay over the arrest of Sheikh Amer adding that the arrest of noted cleric Sheikh Amer has exposed the discriminatory attitude of Saudi biased authorities.

The asked the Saudi government not to neglect the calls of reform and immediately address the concerned of the masses before any turmoil.

They urged the Saudia to respect all treaties and international conventions that guarantee freedom of expression and ensure the legitimate rights of the masses.

The Shia religious scholars renewed their call for the release of other prisoners who were still in prison for a long time has exceeded some of the sentence.

Among the most prominent signatories of the statements of solidarity, Maulana Syed Ali Al-Nasser, Sheikh Mohamed Ali Al-Ali, Sheikh Mohammed Alloem, Sheikh Hassan Bukhamseen, Sheikh Hussein Essa, Syed Hashim, Sheikh Hassan Nimr, Sheikh Musa Bukhamseen, Sheikh Dr. Sadiq Aljubran, Sheikh Hussein Bukhamseen and Sheikh Ali al-Baqir al-Musa.

Saudi authorities had arrested on Sunday, Sheikh Amer following his call for a constitutional monarchy, and raise sectarian discrimination in the Kingdom.

During the march protesters raised the pictures of Sheikh Amer and called for his release. demonstrators chanted “people want the release of Sheikh Tawfiq” “peaceful .. peaceful….”

According to eyewitnesses security forces surrounded the headquarters of Al-Ahsa province and did not come into contact with demonstrators.

Meanwhile, The protest demonstration was also held at Al-Hofuf City of Al-Ahsa, where about three hundred protesters staged demonstration for the release of Sheikh Al-Amer.

The march comes the day after the invitations through the social networking site “Facebook” about the “Day of Rage” protest against the arrest of Sheikh Amer.

Series of demonstrations began in Qatif, Safavi, Al-Ahsa and Awamiya for the release of forgotten Shia prisoners from the illegal detention of Saudi-Wahabi regime.
