Saudi Jets Hit Civilian Areas in Yemen’s Capital

Saudi warplanes targeted residential areas in the Yemeni capital of Sana’a on Monday, leaving large groups of people under the rubble of their flattened homes.

Civilian areas in the district of Hamdan in Sana’a were heavily pounded by Saudi jets.

A large number of people, including kids and women, were killed in the air raids.

The strikes also hit Dhain Mountain, causing heavy damage to citizens’ properties, the report added.

Yemen’s defenseless people have been under massive attacks by a coalition led by Saudi Arabia for more than two years but Riyadh has reached none of its objectives in Yemen so far.

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies have been carrying out deadly airstrikes against the Houthi Ansarullah movement in an attempt to restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

Over 12,000 Yemenis, including thousands of women and children, have lost their lives in the deadly military campaign.
