Saudi national carried out bombing in mosque: Saudi Interior Ministry
A Saudi Arabian national has been identified as the assailant who carried out a recent bombing on a mosque in the southwestern Saudi province of Asir, which killed 15 people.
The Saudi Interior Ministry said Saturday that 21-year-old Yussef bin Sleiman bin Abdullah al-Sleiman carried out the attack on a mosque inside a police compound in the southern city of Abha two days ago.
The statement, carried out by the official SPA news agency, also said that 11 of the people killed during the bombing were registered members of the elite Emergency Force while the four others were Bangladeshi workers.
However, in an earlier audio message, the ISIL Takfiris, an affiliate of which had claimed the Thursday attack, identified the attacker as Abu Sinan al-Najdi.
Back in May, at least 21 people lost their lives and 97 others sustained injuries in a bomb attack by the Takfiri ISIL terrorist group against Imam Ali (PBUH) Mosque in the village of al-Qudeeh in the kingdom’s Eastern Province.
One week later, a similar bomb attack, which was also claimed by the ISIL, targeted another mosque in Eastern Province, with a confirmed death toll of four.
This as the Riyadh regime has long been viewed as a major supporter of Takfiri terror groups operating in Syria and Iraq.
ISIL Takfirism is largely influenced by Wahhabism, the radical ideology dominating Saudi Arabia and freely preached by Saudi scholars.
