Saudi Arabia announces $40m donation to UN agency for Palestinians

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre said the funds will support UNRWA’s “humanitarian relief efforts in the Gaza Strip”, where the Israel-Hamas war has raged for more than five months, by providing “food for more than 250,000 people and tents for 20,000 families”.

Earlier this year, the Israeli government claimed 12 members of the UN agency participated sence October 7 .

The Israeli accusations prompted more than a dozen Western countries, led by the US, to suspend funding for UNRWA, which delivers vital services, including education and healthcare, to millions of Palestinian refugees in Gaza and across the Middle East.
