Experts in Middle East affairs have declared that Saudi Arabia has “failed on all fronts” in Yemen as the Saudi Arab-led coalition could not restore the government power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi.

Press TV has interviewed Daniel Pipes, the director of the Middle East Forum, in New York, and Hafsa Kara-Mustapha, a journalist and political analyst from London, to discuss Saudi Arabia’s resumption of airstrikes on Yemen.

Talking to Press TV, Kara-Mustapha said that Saudi Arabia has “failed on all fronts,” because the Saudis wanted to restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi as well as to stop the Houthis’ advancement, but the kingdom has been unable to reach either of the goals despite waging the military aggression.

The Saudis’ Wednesday attack has been a face-saving attempt after their failure in Yemen, she argues, adding that the result of the Saudis’ aggression has been a great violation of human rights and war crimes against Yemenis with the support of Western governments namely the United States.

Pipes, however, says the Saudis have panicked after witnessing new advancements by the Houthis, thus, they rushed to restart airstrikes against Yemen, because Saudi Arabia has been “unprepared” for such a military operation against another country “both in terms of tactics and policies.”
