Gasoline price rises in Saudi Arabia
The Saudi government’s decision to increase gasoline prices comes after oil revenues fell 21.9 percent from a year earlier.
Following the decline in Saudi oil revenues, Saudi Finance Minister Mohammed Al-Jadaan has previously said that the government will have to cut back on living expenses.
The Saudi government also decided on May 6 to reduce the salaries of private-sector employees in Saudi Arabia by 40 percent to address the difficult conditions amid the coronavirus outbreak and the intensification of the economic crisis in Saudi Arabia.
