Large protest rally to condemn Zouari’s assassination
Thousands of demonstrators gathered on Tuesday outside the municipal theater in Tunis to protest the assassination of Tunisian engineer Mohamed Zouari.
Representatives of political parties, members of civil society institutions, members of parliament, and citizens were present in the demonstration to denounce “the violation of the homeland integrity.”
Holding portraits of Mohamed Zouari as well as the Tunisian and Palestinian flags, demonstrators chanted slogans hostile to the Israeli occupation and criminalized any normalization with Israel.
Mohamed Zouari, 49, was shot dead last Thursday outside his home, a road from Menzel Chaker to Sfax-South, while he was in his car.
