Hamas says commitment to ceasefire hinges on ‘Israel’s’ compliance

The Palestinian Resistance’s commitment to the ceasefire agreement is contingent upon “Israel” being pressured to adhere to it and to halt its ongoing crimes against the Palestinian people, senior Hamas leader Khalil al-Hayya stated.

Al-Hayya’s remarks came amid intensive contacts held by Hamas leadership with mediators and other international parties, during which the movement expressed its rejection and condemnation of “Israel’s” conduct and the continuation of its military operations in Gaza, which Hamas said are based on “false pretexts and baseless claims.”

Hamas stressed that “Israel” bears full responsibility for the failure to reach a resolution regarding Resistance fighters in Rafah, who are located in an area under Israeli occupation.

In his communications with mediators and international actors, al-Hayya warned of the consequences and repercussions of near-daily crimes and massacres carried out by “Israel” in the Gaza Strip, as well as blatant violations of the ceasefire agreement. He emphasized the need to compel “Israel” to stop these violations.

According to the Government Media Office in Gaza, 1,450 Israeli violations have been recorded since the ceasefire agreement came into effect in October 2025. The latest Israeli attacks resulted in the killing of at least 31 Palestinians in several areas across the Gaza Strip since dawn on Thursday.
Egypt slams Israeli violations of Gaza ceasefire
Egypt, a central mediator to the ceasefire agreement, slammed “Israel’s” continuous aggression on the Gaza Strip, warning that such attacks could derail efforts toward the transition to stability in the besieged territory.

“The Arab Republic of Egypt condemns ‘Israel’s’ constant violations of the ceasefire in the Gaza Strip… Egypt stresses that these breaches pose a direct threat to the political path and create obstacles to efforts to create a conducive environment for the transition to a more stable phase in the Gaza Strip,” the official statement read.

The deadliest strike hit a displacement tent in Khan Younis in southern Gaza, where seven members of a single family, including five children, a woman, and an elderly man, were killed. Additional strikes across the territory contributed to the rising toll.
