Palestinian fighters killed in shooting at Hebron checkpoint

Israeli forces are describing the incident at the checkpoint north of Hebron, occupied West Bank, as another shooting attack by Palestinian gunmen.

What we know is two armed Palestinian fighters approached the checkpoint in a vehicle and opened fire on Israeli troops there. During the shootout, the two fighters were killed.

Usually, after these kinds of incidents, the men are identified, and the army finds out where they are from. What we’re expecting later today is for raids to happen wherever these men call home.

Whenever these events happen, there’s a form of retaliation by the Israeli forces against the family members – a kind of collective punishment.
