Pak Army leadership discussed internal security and regional tension at the Corps Commanders meeting at the General Headquarters (GHQ).
Reports had it Pakistan government has come under pressure from its Arab allies and the US regarding Iran. They want Pakistan to take a clear position on the escalation in the Persian Gulf. That means pro-US stance.

The ISPR mentioned corps commanders meeting discussions on India, Afghanistan and Iran without elaborating.

Notably, relations with India remain tense and the army on Wednesday blamed it for an explosion in Barnala, Chamb sector AJK near LoC. At least five troops embraced martyrdom in the attack described as India’s state sponsored terrorism.

Moreover, Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Bajwa also defended the government’s tough economic measures as indispensable.

Most importantly, the corps commanders discussed ongoing internal security operations and action against proscribed organisations.

They noted Punjab’s Counter-Terrorism Department has registered 23 cases against the leadership of Jamaatud Dawa (JuD), Lashkar-e-Taiba and Falah-i-Insaniyat Foundation.

Furthermore, CTD Punjab booked them for making assets from terror financing through trusts and not-for-profit organisations. They also booked JuD chief Hafiz Saeed and other leaders on charges of terror financing.
