Pakistan has secured a diplomatic victory as UN restores its prestigious family station status that effectively allows UN personnel to travel with their families to Pakistan.
In this regard, International Civil Service Commission (ICSC) of the United Nations announced decision yesterday.

Most importantly, a letter from the office of the ICSC chairperson, Larbi Djacta, notified the development.

Under the delegated authority of the Commission, it discontinued non-family status of the duty station Islamabad effective 14 June 2019.

Noteworthy that UN decision carried another message. Most importantly for foreign investors that Pakistan no more a dangerous zone.

The UN decision came after security evaluation of the capital city and on the recommendation of the Under-Secretary General of the UN Department for Safety and Security.

Moreover, Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi welcomed the decision as a good news in a statement on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Maleeha Lodhi, Pakistan’s Ambassador at the UN, also responded to Qureshi’s tweet. She noted it as a positive development on which “we all worked together.”

Noteworthy to add that UN decision carried another message. Most importantly for foreign investors that Pakistan no more a dangerous zone.
