Iran Consul General Mohammad Reza Nazeri visited the mazar of renowned Sunni scholar Mufti Sarfaraz Naeemi in Lahore.
Director Iranian Cultural Centre Lahore Mr Rezai Fard also accompanied him.
Dr Raghib Naeemi received both of them at Jamia Naeemia Garhi Shahu (Lahore).
Iranian diplomat praised martyr Sarfaraz Naeemi, father of Dr Raghib Naeemi for his services and martyrdom.
He said terrorists targeted Mufti Sarfaraz Naeemi because he was preaching peace and tolerance as per Islamic teachings.
He further said that Mufti Sarfaraz Naeemi issued historic religious edict (fatwa) that destroyed the backbone of terrorists.

Mohammad Reza Nazeri also visited various sections of Jamia Naeemia seminary, including library and computer section.
He offered fateha at the grave of Mufti Sarfaraz Naeemi. He proposed a monument ‘Meraj-e-Shahadat’ at the place where Mufti Sarfaraz Naeemi embraced martyrdom.
