Opposition parties accuse Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister of corruption

Opposition parties accuse Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister of corruption as they reiterated the charges at a joint press conference.
The opposition members in the Gilgit Baltistan Legislative Assembly (GBLA) accused Chief Minister Hafeezur Rehman of misusing funds.

In this regard, opposition leader Captain Mohammad Shafi Khan (retd) along with Pakistan Peoples Party’s Javed Hussain, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s Raja Jahanzeb Khan and Balawristan National Front’s Nawaz Khan Naji addressed a joint press conference.

Noteworthy, they said the GB chief minister was splurging the funds for gaining political mileage.

The GBLA opposition vowed to protest outside the Parliament House in Islamabad if the discrimination with opposition members continued.

They alleged that the CM wa distributijg whole GB budget among four contractors through an officer of the works department.

Shafi Khan who hails from Islami Tehreek alleged that e chief minister was distributing the public funds among the ruling PML-N members through a corrupt official of GB works department.

Because, CM sought o avoid the no-confidence motion in the assembly,

Most importantly, He said the GB government was not approving development projects of opposition members.

While, he noted, the government instructed the ruling members to submit their projects for approval in the upcoming budget.

Oppsition to protest in GBLA and in Islamabad

Hence, Captain Shafi alerted that if the discrimination with opposition members continued, they would have to protest.

In reaction to CM’s nepotism, the opposition members would disrupt the upcoming GB Assembly budget session.

In addition, the opposition vowed to protest outside the Parliament House in Islamabad

Most importantly, they said speaker was not convening the pre-budget session flouting the rules.

On the occasion, the other opposition members alleged that GB government and cronies were greasing the palms of NAB and other investigation agencies officials. It seem they want no investigation into the corruption of the ruling party members.

Furthermore, the opposition members urged the federal government to take notice of the corruption of the GB government.

Noteworthy: Opposition parties have joined hands against the CM who belongs to the PML-N.

Most importantly,  GBLA opposition members oppose GB CM because of his nepotism and favouritism and violation of merit.

Moreover, for that reason, reports had it Captain Shafi and his comrades may stiffen their reaction.
