US Iran escalation in Persian Gulf worries Pakistan as Foreign Office spokesman has urged the United States and Iran to demonstrate restraint.
Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Dr. Mohammad Faisal termed the recent developments in the Persian Gulf as disturbing.

Addressing a weekly news conference in Islamabad today, he asked US and Iran to resolve the issues thriugh talks. Most importantly, he was citing the issues that have ratcheted up tensions between them. And he wanted them to sort out them through negotiations.

Also, Pakistan has expressed concern over deployment of the US aircraft carrier in the Persian Gulf.

Most importantly, Pakistan supports settlement of all issues through dialogue.

Answering a question, he said US decision to deploy aircraft carrier and bombers have added to tensions. He said it also added tension to the existing precarious security situation in the Middle East.

Furtermore, Pakistan expect all sides to show restraint as a miscalculated move can transmute into a large scale war.

Most importantly, Pakistan supports settlement of all issues through dialogue.

Responding to a question of Iranian official news agency IRNA, FO spokesman said that they remain in touch with Tehran on bilateral issues regularly.

Because of US and Saudi pressure, Pakistan government has also stopped work on Iran-Pakistan gas pipleline project.
