Pakistanis launch aid campaign for Iran flood victims
At least four Pakistani parties have come forward to begin aid campaign for flood-stricken Iranian nation and among them Imamia Students Organisation was the first who collected donation after Friday prayers in Jacobabad.
After ISO, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, Shia Ulema Council and Mufti Gulzar Naeemi-led Jamaat Ahl-e-Haram Pakistan have announced to launch aid campaign.
Their campaign across the country and abroad to collect humanitarian aid to help Iranian flood-stricken people must be an eye opener for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s government at the Centre and in provinces, PPP government in Sindh province and the entire polity and welfare organizations of Pakistan who are still indifferent to flood victims of Iran.
MWM secretary general Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari has asked party’s foreign affairs department head Shafqat Shirazi to direct the MWM office bearers in Australia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Kuwait, Switzerland and United Kingdom to launch campaign for Iran flood victims.
The MWM has also informed the Iran embassy in Islamabad that a special bank account has been set up by the party to collect the donations from across Pakistan to help the Iranian brothers and sisters suffering from massive flood in Iran.
Jamaat Ahle Haram Pakistan has also announced to collect aid for the victims of the recent floods in Iran.
President of the party Mufti Gulzar Naeemi has said that they will collect humanitarian aid all over the country to help the Iranian brothers hit by the floods.
SUC chief Allama Syed Sajid Ali Naqvi has directed his party cadres in and out of the country to actively participate in relief activities for Iran flood victims. He asked Qom-based Pakistani community and SUC Qom chapter to personally participate in the aid campaign and efforts and extend assistance to Iranian flood victims.
Pakistani groups say that due to unilateral sanctions by an arrogant power USA and political pressures, Iran is facing some problems to get the aid for flood victims that is why the initiative to collect the money has been launched across Pakistan to help the Iranian sisters and brothers affected by the recent floods.
Unprecedented heavy rains caused floods in various parts of Iran over the past two weeks. Scores of people were killed and 478 others were injured and a large number were displaced across Iran.
The disaster coincided with the high season of Iranians’ trips as they were spending the national two-week holidays of Nauroz.
