Indian government has denied visas to Pakistanis seeking to attend the Urs of Islamic saint Syed Moinuddin Chishti ─ also known as Khawaja Gharib Nawaz, or patron of the poor ─ at the shrine in Ajmer Sharif in Rajasthan.

More than 500 Pakistanis were to leave for India on March 7 to pay respect at the sacred shrine in Indian city Ajmer Sharif.
Pakistan’s Minister for Religious Affairs Pir Noorul Haq Qadri said that India’s extremist face was unveiled by denial of visas to Pakistanis. He said religious extremists had held India hostage.
He noted that Pakistanis had been denied attendance to the Urs for two years.
In March 2018 too, India had refused visas to 503 Pakistani pilgrims wanting to participate in the annual Urs. Khwaja Gharib Nawaz Moinuddin Chishti was a great admirer of Imam Hussain (AS) and one of the quatrains of his Persian poetry earned his global popularity.
That poetry reads:
Shah Hast Hussain, Badshah Hast Hussain (Ruler is Hussain… Ruler of rulers is Hussain)
Deen Hast Hussain, Deen Panah Hast Hussain (Religion is Hussain, protector of religion is Hussain)
Sar Dad Na Dad dar dast-e-Yazid (Beheaded but didn’t shake hand with Yazid)
Hatta Keh Bina-e-La Ilah Hast Hussain (Thus foundation-layer of (the creed) none but God is Hussain).
