Many feared dead as a building collapsed in Karachi Jafar-e-Tayyar Society

A multi-storey residential building collapsed in Karachi’s Malir Jafar-e-Tayyar Society today. Many residents had been entrapped under debris.

Reports had it that two injured and the bodies of the three victims had been taken out so far. The injured were shifted to hospital for treatment.
Three families were settled in the building. Many residents are said to be entrapped under debris.
Reports had it that Hassan Abbas Zaidi, 52, a grade-18 government officer also died due to collapse. Residents blame that anti-encroachment operation weakened the buildings base and the owner of that building had initiated work to strengthen pillars of the building.
