Senate Committee head asks Prime Imran Khan to visit Iran at earliest
Chairperson Senate Standing Committee on Maritime Affairs Nuzhat Sadiq has emphasised that Prime Minister Imran Khan should visit Iran as early as possible.
“Pakistan needs to focus on ties on with Iran,” the senator from Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) said.
She recalled good progress in Iran-Pakistan ties citing that her party’s government under Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took many positive steps in this regard.
“Former PM Nawaz Sharif was very keen to have good relations with Iran,” she said, urging that Pakistan need to move further to make ties with Iran more closer and strengthened.
“We are in this region and we need to progress and economically go stronger,” Senator said, explaining that economically going stronger means that you need to have a safe and conducive environment and for that we need to pursue our good relations with our neighbors especially Iran.
Parliamentarian went on to say that Pakistan believes in having good relations with all our neighbors, be it Iran, Afghanistan or India.
Senator Nuzhat Sadiq hoped that Prime Minister Imran Khan would be visiting Iran.
She said that there was no reason for his delay in visiting Iran as he we was too busy in dealing with internal matters. “But in near future he will visit Iran and he should,” she said.
