KP CM seeks report on Taliban extortion complaints
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has taken notice of collection of extortion money from Afghanistan-bound trucks and directed the provincial police chief to submit a report about the issue in which locals blamed Afghan Taliban network for bhatta.
The issue was raised at the district assembly earlier this week and the council was informed that Afghanistan-bound trucks from the fruit and vegetable markets were being forced to pay Rs5,000 extortion money per truck.
A statement issued here said the chief minister had directed the KP police chief to present a detailed report on how to stop such acts.
