Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen secretary general Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari has made clear that there must be no restrictions on Azadari (sacred mourning in commemoration of martyrs of Karbala).

“The Constitution of Pakistan guarantees rights of all citizens of the country that they can practice their religious rituals in accordance with their own traditions and interpretations,” he said, addressing an Istaqbal-e-Moharram Conference.
He urged the government and law enforcement agencies to take stern action against fanatics, terrorists and extremists instead of being held hostage at the hands of handful terrorists and extremists.
MWM leader stressed on the need to peaceful environment and security to the azadars across the country and particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and its Dera Ismail Khan district. He claimed that extremists were recruited in security agencies during the tenure of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) and they pose serious threat to the security and stability of the entire Pakistan, let alone KP or DI Khan.
He demanded that an independent commission be formed to probe this sensitive issue because IGP KP himself told the Supreme Court that police cops too were involved in targeted killings.
“It is duty of the government to ascertain the whereabouts of missing Shia Muslims and inform their heirs and families about their whereabouts,” he said, adding that dozens of Shia Muslims from Dera Ismail had gone missing.
Allama Raja Nasir said that remnants of Gen Zia were responsible for unabated extremism and terrorism in Pakistan because their created groups are involved in the acts of sabotage and destabilization and they must be disbanded and punished.
He said present government enjoys harmonious ties with all institutions hence the PTI-led government should play cardinal role to thwart terrorism and extremism.
