Terrorists kill three policemen in Gilgit checkpost attack
Three policemen were martyred and two injured in a pre-dawn attack yesterday in Gilgit-Baltistan when takfiri militants of banned Deobandi terrorist outfit attacked a police station in Kargah area.
A police official said that seven Deobandi takfiri terrorists attacked the police station. “As a result, we lost three policemen and two others were injured,” he said. The deceased were identified as Hawaldar Fazlur Rehman, Sepoy Nawab Khan and Sepoy Abdul Wakil. The policemen were martyred as they slept.
The injured were rushed to the District Headquarter Hospital Gilgit.
“One of the terrorists was also killed in the shootout while another was critically injured?” the official added. The terrorist killed in the attack was affiliated with a militant group gaining prominence in Afghanistan and was a senior commander for the group in the Afghan province of Nuristan.
