Pakistan: 8th Muharram processions culminates amid stern security
Muharram 8th processions comprising hundreds of thousands participants were took out in the various cities and districts of embattled Pakistan on Sunday safely reached at their destination after passing the designated routes under the tight security Umberalla.

The central 8th Muharram procession was taken out from Nishtar Park culminated at Hussainiya Iranian amid strict security arrangements in the metropolis taken by the Law Enforcement Agencies.Â
The security agencies have beefed up security arrangements for Muharram 8 processions in Karachi to avoid any mishap on this important day.
Many small and large processions are taken out on Muharram 8 and hundreds of thousands people be part of those in the metropolitan every year.
Owing to the large gatherings and city wide processions, security risks mount to alarming level and often some mishaps happen on the Muharram’s final days.
The government and security agencies have made strict security arrangements for Muharram 8 to make sure trouble free march of processions and safety of the participants this year.
The security officials have closed all entrances and exits with containers while shops have been also sealed off on all routes of processions including Numaish Chowrangi, Saddar, Tibet Center, Light House, Boltan Market.
Hundreds of thousands people take out processions across the country on Muhrram 8-10, to pay tributes to the sacrifices of Imam Hussain (AI), the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and his fellows in Karbala while facing cruel and merciless forces of Yazid.
Imam Hussain (AI) and his few fellows stood firmly opposite a very large force of the Yazid; they choose to fight till the martyrdom in the way of righteousness instead of bowing to the evil forces of Yazid.
The main and largest procession of Muharam 8 will come out from Nishtar Park and after marching on the set route, it will conclude at Hussania Iranian Imam Bargah.
Malik for tight security during Ashura
Interior Minister Rehman Malik has banned entry of transport within 500 meters of the areas where Ashrua gatherings are observed across the country.
Malik ordered home secretaries and IGs of four provinces of the country to ensure foolproof security during Ashura.
Police SHOs will be responsible for implementation of the orders, Malik said.
Interior minister himself is monitoring the security measures for Ashura.
