Opposition Leader Gilgit-Baltistan condemns victimization of political opponents

Leader of the Opposition in Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly Captain (retd) Mohammad Shafi has slammed the PML-N’s government in G-B for victimizing political opponents by misusing fourth schedule.

“Terrorists should be named in the fourth schedule of anti-terrorism law but Chief Minister Hafeezur Rehman and other henchmen of Nawaz Sharif are implicating political opponents in it,” he lamented, talking to the media.
Shafi who hails from Allama Sajid Naqvi’s party Islami Tehreek (ITP) said that the Opposition parties would begin movement against the biased government for excluding terrorists from the list of fourth schedule and naming peaceful law-abiding opposition parties leaders in that list.
He said Hafeezur Rehman and Jafarullah, other henchmen of Nawaz Sharif should be sentenced for contempt of court after they referred summary for transfer of powers despite nullifying of Gilgit-Baltistan Order 2018 by Supreme Appellate Bench.
“Now court summoned Hafeezur Rehman and Jafarullah and convict them for contempt of court and usurping rights of people of Gilgit-Baltistan,” he said.
