Karachi: Five Jundullah terrorists held; Police foils terrorist bid in Muharram

shiitenews ccpoPolice in Karachi have arrested five terrorists of outlawed terrorist outfit of Junduallah and claimed to have foiled the conspiracy of terrorism in holy Month of Muharram.

Addressing the press conference here on Tuesday, the Additional Inspector General (AIG) Ghulam Shabir Shaikh said the

terrorists had planned attacks to be carried out during the month of Muharram and had planned to target Majalis-e-Muharram in the city.

He informed that the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) arrested five outlaws adding that these suspects arrived in Karachi from Waziristan and interior parts of Punjab and had plans to carry out terrorist activities during Muharram.

The terrorists are identified as Syed Kamran alias Waqar alias Bilal, Salar Muhammad alias Khalid alias Danish, Amjad Khan alias Kargil alias Shahji, Farhan Khan alias Hussain and Muhammad Munir alias Azeem.

“The terrorists got freed terrorists of Jundullah Shakeel Farooqi, Murtaza Wazir and Murad from city court after assassinating 4 police personnel, he said.

He informed that they have admitted to planning terrorist activity in the city saying that the arrested terrorists also had planted a bomb at Jinnah Hospital which claimed lives of 19 people, and they separately looted Rs 8 million from hospital’s cash van, Shabbir said.
