Army Chief assures Agha Raza and others of security of Shia Hazara
Balochistan Law Minister Agha Syed Mohammad Raza who is also a leader of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, has told the media that Chief of the Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa assured the Shia Hazara notables that adequate security would be ensured for Shia Hazara community of Quetta.
Flanked by Allama Syed Hashim Mousavi and others, Agha Raza further said, due to incessant targeted killings, Shia Hazara community of Quetta had been demanding that Army Chief should intervene and play his role to ensure security.
“As per its tradition, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen local and central leadership, being a representative Shia party, came forward and announced its support to the protesters,” he said.
Allama Hashim Mousavi said that since MWM leader Agha Raza staged sit-in and Allama Raja Nasir announced countrywide protest, government came under immense pressure and held talks. However, as per demands of the protesters, Army Chief visited and met Shia Hazara notables including Allama Mousavi and Agha Raza.
MWM leaders also thanked government and security officials over their sympathy and support. They also thanked Chief Justice of Pakistan for taking suo motu notice.
