Tall-Parachinar road opened after five years of turmoil
After a peace agreement between the rival Turi and Bangash tribesmen in Kurram Agency, the Tall-Parachinar road opened on Sunday after five years of turmoil in the area and a large number of vehicles escorted by the security forces travelled to Parachinar from Peshawar.
According to the Shiite News Correspondent, Check-posts of security forces have been set up at various spots on the road to avoid any untoward incident in the terror-ridden area.In this regard a ceremony was held at Bab-e-Kurram in Chapri area which was attended by Commissioner Kohat Division Sahibzada Muhammad Anis, tribal elders from both sects, grand tribal jirga members and officials of the political administration. The tribal elders expressed pleasure over the opening of the Tall-Parachinar road which was closed for the last five years due to precarious security situation in the area.Commissioner Kohat Division Sahibzada Muhammad Anis congratulated the tribal elders over establishment of peace in the region. He said peace has returned to Kurram Agency and no one would be allowed to disturb peace of the area.
It may be noted here that more than 2000 Shia Muslims were martyred and beheaded by the Nasabi-Wahabi Taliban terrorists in Kurram Agency to fulfill their evil agenda against the Shia Muslims and to destabilize the Country.
A report published in Pakistan Daily Newspaper Frontier Post in 27th October 2011 Edition revealed that the closure of the Tal-Parachinar road from last five r years has reportedly become the profitable business of transportation and extortion for the security forces and local armed militants to fill their pockets.
The Newspaper quoted a journey of the passengers of Kurram Agency from Ali Zai (kurram Agency) to Peshawar and said that It has been learnt from the reliable sources that in recent convoy the passengers vowing to reach Peshawar from Ali Zai also paid amount worth Rs 1000-1200 to ensure their safe journey to reach their destination.It is pertinent to mention here that for around 220 Kilometer journey from Alizai to Peshawar the total fair prior to April 2007, when the siege of Kurram Agency was set, was around Rs 150-170.The convey at present normally moves from Parachinar or Alizaito Tal and then moves ahead to Peshawar, for which from Alizai to Tal area its costs a single person Rs 500, where as local residents of Tal and other areas which are rival to Parachinaris use to reach Peshawar from Tal by paying Rs 200 through private vehicles. Frontier Constabulary, which was main government force responsible for providing security to the residents of the Kurram Agency use to receive Rs 5000-7000 per trucks in case if they use the security assort fro Tal-Parachinar road, and thus at end it results into heavy collective amount.   Unofficial reports are there, that at Chipari check post the amount worth Rs 50,000-0.1m is also being received prior permitting the goods laden vehicles to move in or out under security cover.In case if the convoy escorted by the security forces from Parachinar then from FC Fort at Parachinar the tickets- with stamps of Kurram Malitia-were being issued, however if it starts from the Alizai or other areas them only listing of the passengers traveling in the convoy is done.Due to worst conditions there at present three small private airplanes were also working in the Agency to fly passengers from Parachinar to Peshawar, including one four-seat plane, three 6-seats plane and one with capacity of eight seats.For the populous numbered in 0.6-0.8 m of Kurram Agency these airplanes use to fly from Parachianr to Peshawar twice a day charging people Rs 9700 per person which raises in case of armed conflicts and touches Rs 12000-14000.
