Action sought against Ulema inciting hate in Muharram

hassanzafarMember, Supreme Council, Majlis-e-Wehdat-ul-Muslimeen (MWM), Hasan Zafar Naqvi, demanded of the government to impose ban on all those Ulema who give provocative sermons especially during Muharram to avoid any clash and terrorist attack in the city. Addressing a press conference at the Karachi Press Club (KPC) on Thursday evening, he said that wall-chalking that created division between the Shia and Sunni sects must be washed out and those who spread sectarianism should be arrested.   The press conference specially focused on the arrangements during Muharram processions and demanded from the government that permits should be given to traditional and old processions as to date they were not issued licences to take out processions, he informed.  He recalled that in the past a plot was allocated for Millat-e-Jafferia in every new colony for Imambargahs. Now with the growing population a plot should be allocated for every new colony for Imambargahs. He demanded that licences and permit also be issued for Majlis-e-Aza in these areas.  He said that the roads of Parachinar should be reopened and it should be cleansed of terrorists, adding “Those elements who were involved in murder of Shia Ulema be given stringent punishment.”
