Yazidi takfiri Taliban terrorist Umer among 18 killed by Pakistan army
Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) commander of Miranshah, Commander Umer, was killed by security forces on the outskirts on Miranshah, Military’s chief spokesperson Major-General Asim Salim Bajwa said on facebook.
He said that seven terrorists were killed early Saturday morning outside Miranshah. Bajwa also confirmed that 6 terrorist hideouts were destroyed last evening on the outskirts of Mirali killing 11 terrorists.
Bajwa confirmed that one prominent al Qaeda commander was also arrested. According to initial interrogation, the commander is an expert in explosives, Improvised Explosive Devices and suicide belts.
Three terrorists were also arrested by security forces while they tried to cross Indus River near Mianwali. All crossings along the river have been sealed to keep terrorists from escaping.
Jets killed 17 militants in the latest raid on rebel hideouts, officials said on Saturday. The planes bombarded hideouts in the Dargamandi and Chashma Gaon areas of North Waziristan late Friday, as aid agencies geared up relief efforts for refugees fleeing the military operation.
“Jet fighters bombarded militant hideouts, killing 17 rebels and destroying their six compounds,” a senior security official said.
A local intelligence official confirmed the militant casualties in the aerial attack.
Nearly 370 militants and 12 security personnel have been killed in the offensive, although the number and identity of the victims are impossible to verify.
