MWM and family warn of protest if Kh Mohd Ali and others not released

arrest-khMohdAli-presser-saeedrizviMajlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen and family of Khuwaja Muhammad Ali and other arrested Shia leaders have warned the biased Punjab police to release Kh Mohd Ali and other arrested notables forthwith.

“If the innocent Shia leaders and notables are not released within 24 hours, we shall stage a rally on Tuesday night that will continue till our legitimate demand is met,” vowed Saeed ul Hassan Rizvi, Secretary General of MWM Rawalpindi Chapter at a press conference.

The wife, 2 sister-in-laws and 2 minor children of Khuwaja Mohammad Ali were also present. The family members endorsed the MWM’s decision.

Saeed Rizvi condemned the arrest of Mr. Khuwaja and disabled Shia notable’s father and brother in unjustifiable raids in Chakwal and other parts, Shiite News reported here on Sunday.

“Khuwaja Mohammad Ali was arrested from his Chakwal residence. His wife, 2 sister-in-laws and 2 minor children were also whisked away along with him. Rawalpindi Police also thrashed them severely and tortured them. They were taken to Rawalpindi where they were detained in Rwat police station.

He said that Ghulam Shabbir Joya, 55, former central secretary education for the MWM. He said that he was a patient of red-cells shortage. He said that father of Mehmood Iqbal, a disabled Shia notable along with his brother Hassan Iqbal, according to the report of Shiite News Correspondent.

He said that he and Allama Asghar Askari, Maulana Asrar Gilani and Maulana Zaigham of the MWM met the RPO and CCPO Rawalpindi and lodged protest against the unjustifiable arrests of the innocent Shiite leaders. On their protest, the CCPO ordered immediate release of the women and children.

He said that Shiites would begin protest on Tuesday if the arrested innocent Shia leaders were not released forthwith.
