Allama Nazir Taqvi urges channels not to repeat Geo’s blasphemous program

Allama Nazir Abbas Taqvi, secretary general of Shia Ulema Council Sindh chapter, has urged the TV channels and social media networks not to repeat the blasphemous program of Geo Channel.

Talking to Shiite News on Friday, he said, all Muslims were angered and disappointed by the blasphemous program of Geo. He condemned the Geo management for broadcasting that blasphemous program.  He said that Muslims unanimously registered their protest against the channel.

“However, it is also blasphemous to repeat the same program on other channels or social media such as facebook pages. We demand them not to do so because it is also blasphemy and no excuse will be accepted for repetition,” he said.

Allama Nazir warned all those who were trying to mishandle the issue not to act irresponsibly. There must be no sectarianism on the issue because all Muslims love Ahl-e-Bait (AS) and they all condemned the Geo channel. He appealed to all Muslims not to resort to sectarianism.  

“We demand that Geo media group’s top management should apologize and that apology should be broadcast in the bulletins as headline story and that apology should be published prominently in Jang, The News, Daily News and Awam. They should repent before Allah Almighty and Hazrat Mohammad (peace be upon him), His last apostle and Prophet,” he urged.
