PTI leadership assures MWM of taking steps for security of Shia Muslims in Khyber-Pukhtoonkhwa
Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen leaders raised the issue of ongoing genocide of Shia Muslims in Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa province when Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders met them in Islamabad.
The PTI leaders Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen and other officials met MWM chief Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari who was accompanied by Allama Asghar Askari, Nasir Abbas Shirazi and Fazal Abbas.
Shiite News Correspondent reported here that the at the Wednesday meeting Nasir Abbas Shirazi raised the issue of genuine complaints of Shia Muslims against the PTI’s government in Khyber-Pukhtoonkhwa province. He said that targeted assassinations of Shiites continued unabated and no change had come to the province for Shiites.
Jahangir Tareen, a leader of the PTI, assured the MWM leaders that KP government would be asked to take notice of the genuine complaints. He said that the Chief Minister and IG Police of the KP province would be asked to contact the MWM leadership forthwith. He assured that all reservations would be removed.
The PTI leaders Makhdoom Javed Hashmi, Makhdoom Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen and other officials met the MWM leaders to secure their support for the electoral reforms. MWM leader Allama Nasir Abbas said that his party would work with the PTI to bring in reforms in the functioning of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). Speaking on this occasion, PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said his party doesn’t want to harm democracy, which must flourish.
