MWM demands KWSB to issue NOC for Jafar-e-Tayyar Water Supply Project
Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen has warned the management of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) to issue NOC for Jafar-e-Tayyar Cooperative Housing Society Malir within a week.
“If the KWSB management fails to meet this legitimate demand, resident of this largest housing society of its kind in entire Asia will come out on streets to protest against the biased officials of the KWSB,” warned Ahsan Abbas Rizvi, Secretary General, MWM, Malir Chapter, who thrashed out the matter at a meeting on Tuesday.
Samar Zaidi, Hassan Abbas, Sheeraz Zaidi, Asad Ali, Mohammad Jafar, Saeed Raza and Mohammad Hussain Mutaheri of the MWM also attended the meeting.
Ahsan Abbas Rizvi said that Sindh Government has said that Sindh Government already approved new water pipeline of 36 inches. He said that Jafar-e-Tayyar Society’s 27,000 people long for potable drinking water that could be supplied through approved Water Supply and pipeline project.
“The Chairman of the KWSB must take notice of the biased and corrupt officials of his Board who were impeding the implementation by their unjustifiable negative tactics,” he appealed to the KWSB’s head.
The MWM Malir Chapter was of the view that Jafar-e-Tayyar Society was being lagged behind due to negligence of the government and its relevant departments. It said that roads were in dilapidated condition and sewerage lines were also destroyed due to which sewerage water inundated the lanes, streets and roads of the Jafar-e-Tayyar Society. It demanded that a Jafar-e-Tayyar Beautification Plan should be announced by the government to facilitate the residents of the Society.
