Allama Nasir Abbas asks govt not to toe the line of kingdoms in foreign policy
Allama Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, secretary general, Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen, has expressed hope that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s words matched government’s action on the issue of sending army at Saudi/Bahraini’s disposal.
Speaking at a press conference he urged Prime Minister to prove by his action that Pakistan army would not be stationed anywhere on Saudis or Bahrainis desire.
“Syria has a legitimate government and unelected monarchs of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain have imposed wars on peaceful pro-democracy politicians and people, therefore it is unfair to side with the anti-people and anti-democracy monarchies against any country or people,” he asserted.
Allama Jafari further said that people of Pakistan rejected the Bahraini monarch King Hammad’s Pakistan visit because he lacks legitimacy to govern Bahrain whose Shia majority and their Sunni allies have launched a peaceful pro-democracy movement.
“Government tried its best to hide 1.5 billion dollars that Saudi kingdom had given to Pakistan. Now people want to know what Saudis had bought from Pakistan in return,” he asked.
He reiterated his opposition to talks with the Taliban terrorists. He demanded military action to eliminate the terrorists.
“We express full support and solidarity with journalist community against attacks on them and their freedom. We condemn terrorist attacks on them,” he assured.
Allama Abdul Khaliq Asadi, Allama Aijaz Behisthi, Allama Asghar Askari and Maulana Asad Abbas were also present.
