Shia leader files a petition in Peshawar High Court against Shia-genocide
A Shia leader of Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa has filed a petition in Peshawar High Court against the Shia-genocide in Pakistan saying that it is against the ideology of founding fathers who assured that lives and properties of Pakistani citizens would be protected.
Shiite News Correspondent reported that known lawyer Moazzam Butt filed the writ petition on behalf of Muzaffar Ali Akhunzada against the Prime Minister, Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly, interior ministry, intelligence agencies and police.
The petition said that founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah had promised to Muslims of subcontinent that they would be saved in Pakistan but thousands of Shiites have been murdered in Pakistan and scores were injured. The list of the Shia martyrs was also submitted.
The petitioner requested the court to ensure that the Prime Minister and other parties in the petition play their role in protection of lives and properties of Shiites. The petition also demanded compensation to the heirs of all martyrs. It said that Qisas and Diyat laws of Islam should also be applied in the case.
