Shia Muslims stage rally to protest anti-Shiites blackout by Geo News channel

Shia Muslims staged a rally to register protest against the management of Geo News channel for their anti-Shia blackout policy under which they didn’t cover the Shiites countrywide demonstrations against Peshawar blast.
Officials of the Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Youth Wing who organized the protest told the Shiite News Correspondent that after hours’ long protest, management of the Geo apologized for anti-Shiites blackout of news coverage.

The officials of the MWM said that some pro-takfiri elements were working on key positions in the Geo News channel and they pressurized their subordinates not to air the news of the Shiites countrywide protest.

However, they dispersed peacefully after a peaceful protest and warned the Geo News not to become partial because the journalistic norms don’t allow such partiality. They demanded fair coverage of the Shiites news.
