SUC Chief Allama Sajid Naqvi supports talks with Taliban
Shia Ulema Council chief Allama Sajid Naqvi has announced his support to the government’s proposed peace talks with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Addressing a press conference in Chinniot here, Naqvi said that the decision to support the dialogue process has been taken due to the vulnerable security situation in the country.
He said that the Shia Ulema Council had supported Jamiat Ulma e Islam-Fazl’s chief Fazalur Rehman’s jirga along with other political and religious parties.
He proposed that the points proposed in the jirga should also be taken in to consideration during talks between government representatives and TTP’s committee.
Naqvi said that foreign elements were involved in terrorist activities in the country.
