waseem akhterA baseless accusation of Karachi-based ethnic party’s leader Waseem Akhtar has evoked stiff protest from the Shia Muslims of Pakistan on Saturday.
Shiite News Correspondent talked to many Shia leaders and scholars who rejected the baseless comment of Waseem Akhtar aired on Dawn News TV channel.

Shia leaders and scholars have challenged the MQM leader to prove what he alleged in his comment.

They said that not a single incident was reported anywhere in all over the country where Shiites resorted to anti-state terrorism. They categorically said that no Imam Bargah or Shia religious seminary had ever produced any such fanatics who resorted to terrorism.

They said that the statement of Waseem Akhtar was tantamount to cover-up the facts being publicly released by the AIG Karachi Police Shahid Hayat and Pakistan Rangers spokesman who said that the MQM was involved in Karachi’s sectarian terrorism.

They said that it was the MQM that produced terrorists who were arrested for anti-state terrorism. Shia leaders said that the State of Pakistan knows well about the MQM’s credentials.

They said that MQM leader must apologise for his baseless comments that hurt the sentiments of millions of Shiites of Pakistan.
