Ashura victims demand compensation
Residents of Imamia Colony Peshwar have demanded payment of compensation to the family of the minor martyred and injured persons of the grenade attack incident on Yaum-e-Ashoor procession.
The demand was made by Haji Mumtaz Awan, a resident of the Imamia Colony while addressing a press conference here at  Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Saturday. The procession of the 10th Muharram was attacked through hurling a hand grenade at Abresham Garan near Chowk Yadgar, resulting in the killing of a minor identified as Qamar Ali s/o Sajjad Ali and left 32 other injured, including woman and children.
He expressed concern over the poor security arrangements during Muharram and deplored that despite several meetings with members of Shiitee committee to maintain peace and thwart untoward incident. Haji Mumtaz Awan demanded investigation into the incident and giving exemplary punishment to those involved in the nefarious attempt. All injured should be given medical treatment on government expenses, he demanded.He called for implementation of Anti-Terrorism Act and special compensation package for heirs to Qamar Ali and 32 injured.
The medical staff should give treatment beyond any discrimination on bases of sect or religion, he demanded. He said that there was no sectarian issue, but terrorism has engulfed the entire country and stressed the need of purge the menace of through collective efforts and practical measures.
