Sunni party demands apology from Maryam Nawaz over blasphemy

The blasphemous remarks of Maryam Nawaz daughter of ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif has evoked reaction from Sunni and Shia Muslims alike as both demand her to apologise for equating herself and her father with the infallible and sacred family of Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH), the last apostle of God and Prophet of Islam. Sunni Tehreek staged a rally to protest against her blasphemous remarks that was also joined by other prominent figures.

Sunni Tehreek Ulema Board has also issued a statement demanding Maryam Nawaz to apologise for equating herself with Bibi Fatima Zahra and equating her father Nawaz Sharif with the Prophet of Islam.
Allama Mujahid Abdul Rasool, Mufti Saleem Naqshbandi, Sardar Mohammad Tahir Dogar, Allama Sarfaraz Sialvi, Pir Saifullah Naqshbandi, Allama M Ramzan Qadri, Allama Jahangir Naeemi, Allama Sher Mohammad Mujtabai, Allama Sharifuddin Qazzafi, Sahibzada Nauman Shakir, Allama Abrar Rizvi, Mufti Shafaqat Hamdami and other clerics signed the statement.
Sunni religious party leader lamented that the disqualified Nawaz Sharif’s daughter was also an unfit person for politics or any public office. They said her statement hurt Muslims across the world hence she must apologise and take back her blasphemous remarks.
