An explosion at a police check post near Tablighi congregation ground in Raiwind near Lahore claimed four lives and left at least 20 wounded on Wednesday. Policemen were the target of the terror attack, as nine of them are among the wounded, said Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Operations Wing Dr Haider Ashraf.
An Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) and a Station House Officer (SHO) are among the nine police wounded in the blast that seems to be a terrorist attack.
The injured were shifted to Jinnah Hospital and Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) in Raiwind.
Police reported that a search operation was launched in the area after it was closed for all kinds of traffic.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Umar Farooq said in an exclusive talk that nature of the blast was yet to be identified however, a motorcycle was used for the attack.
