Three missing Shia Muslims released after protracted detentions
Renowned Shia religious scholar, a scout leader and another Shia Muslim who were subjected to enforced disappearance for a long time have been released from illegal captivity and returned their homes in Punjab province.
Maulana Asad Abbas Aheer, scout leader Raghib alias Saqib and Amjad Shirazi have been released and returned their homes.
Raghib Abbas Khan Saqib, a resident of Sidhupura Faisalabad was taken into custody by CTD Police Punjab on September 21, 2016 who also took away a laptop, two PCs, LCD, CDs and CNIC with them. He was an employee of State Life Insurance and happens to be a wood badge holder scout of Pakistan.
Similarly, Maulana Asad Abbas Aheer, Amjad Shirazi and many other Shia religious scholars and notables were illegally rounded up and subjected to enforced disappearances without any charge.
Three of them have been released from illegal detentions.
