Opposition Leader raises the issue of Nasir Shirazi at Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly
Leader of the Opposition in the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Captain (rtd) Mohammad Shafi has lodged his stiff protest over the enforced disappearances of many innocent Shia Muslims mainly of Syed Nasir Abbas Shirazi, deputy secretary general of Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen.
Speaking on a point of order at the GB Assembly, he expressed concern over the extra-judicial undeclared arrests of innocent Pakistani Shia citizens that he said is nothing but a clear violation of the Constitution of Pakistan, let alone universal laws on human rights.
Captain Shafi lambasted the Punjab government over enforced disappearance of Nasir Shirazi. He demanded Pakistan government and Punjab government to ensure immediate release of all these so-called missing persons or produce them in the courts of law if there was any charge against them.
