Despite the fact that anniversary of Arbaeen of Imam Hussain (AS)’s martyrdom approaching fast, not a single convoy of Shia pilgrims has been taken from Quetta to Taftan border, so far, because no formal orders for it has been issued from the office of the Inspector General Frontier Corps (IG FC).

Sources told the Shiite News that FC officer Brigadier Zahid also had argued with the Balochistan Shia Conference on the issue of convoys of Shia pilgrims. He accused them of minting money in the name of pilgrimage but the Conference leaders turned down the blame saying that they were providing services to the Shia pilgrims.
According to a rough estimate, defying the terrorists attacks and suicide bombings and restrictions on their travelling from Quetta to Taftan, 12000 Shia pilgrims had gone on pilgrimage via Taftan border on Ashura and 25000 Shia Zaireen went to Karbala (Iraq) via Iran on Arbaeen (also called Chehlum) last year.
The bus that they board has a capacity of 45 people but due to restrictions on more convoys of the Zaireen, 70 people are asked to board a bus. More than 140 buses have been registered for said travelling but not a single has been sent so far.
Reports had it that at least 450 buses would be allowed to travel from Quetta to Taftan from October 22 to November 2 for Arbaeen pilgrimage but Shia Muslims have termed it not enough. Shia Muslims demand that all those Shia pilgrims who have needed travelling documents must be allowed to go to pilgrimage on Arbaeen and the security forces should provide them protection from Quetta to Taftan and their return from pilgrimage: from Taftan to Quetta.
